Authorities in Mexico City have asked users to take precautions due to changes in service. The measure is part of the rehabilitation work being carried out on Line 2 to improve its operation as part of the preparations to host the 2026 World Cup in the country's capital. Which stations on Line 2 will be closed for Holy Thursday? The Line 2 Metro stations that will be closed this Thursday, April 2, will be Viaducto and Chabacano. This scheme will allow the service to remain operational at both ends of the line, although without a direct connection in the central section of the route. To cover the service at the closed stations, authorities reported that units from the Passenger Transport Network (RTP) will be available. Tomorrow, Thursday, April 2, Line 2 will operate from the start of service, from 7:00 to 24:00, in two circuits: ↔️Tasqueña- Xola ↔️Cuatro Caminos-Pino Suárez. San Antonio Abad, Chabacano, and Viaducto stations will remain closed. To assist passengers, a route will be provided from Xola to Pino Suárez in both directions to facilitate the transfer of Line 2 users. Capital authorities recommended planning trips in advance and considering additional travel time. It should be clarified that for Friday, April 3, Line 2 will operate normally but without a stop at San Antonio Abad station, and there will be no RTP support system. In addition to the closure of Line 2 stations, users should note that this Thursday, April 2, and Friday, April 3, the Mexico City Metro will operate on a holiday schedule due to Holy Week. The Metro network will operate with a holiday schedule, from 7:00 to 24:00, across the entire network. Furthermore, San Antonio Abad station will remain out of service, as has been the case in recent weeks. Due to the station closures, Line 2 will function as two independent circuits from the start of service. The first will run from Tasqueña to Xola, while the second will operate from Cuatro Caminos to Pino Suárez.
